🚀 Getting Started

Claude Team is SCO's secure AI workspace. It enables SCO employees to collaborate, analyze information, create content, and improve productivity with strong privacy protections, high usage limits, and collaboration features not available on personal or free accounts.
Approved SCO employees who have been assigned a license by SCO IT. Before access is granted, two prerequisites must be completed (see below). Once done, you'll receive an invitation to your work email · you can simply sign in with your SCO email address or via single sign-on (SSO).

Two steps are required before your Claude Team license is activated:

  • Complete this training course · all three video modules and their quizzes (80% passing score each).
  • Sign the Governance Policy · read and acknowledge the SCO AI Governance Policy in Module 4.

Once both are complete, notify your administrator and your license will be provisioned.

Go to claude.ai and sign in using your SCO work email address. If SSO is enabled, you'll be redirected to your organization's login page. You do not need to create a personal Anthropic account · your SCO credentials will be used to access the Team workspace directly.
Yes. Claude is available as a free app on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play). Sign in with your SCO work email to access your Team account. The mobile app gives you access to your projects, conversations, and the same Claude model as the desktop version.

Claude Team (your SCO-provided account) offers several advantages over a personal account:

  • Privacy: Conversations are not used to train Anthropic's AI models.
  • Higher usage limits: More messages per day than free or personal plans.
  • Team collaboration: Share Projects, knowledge bases, and artifacts with colleagues.
  • Admin controls: SCO IT can manage access, permissions, and organizational settings.
  • Enterprise support: Access to priority support channels.
No. Claude is designed for everyday business users. You simply type your request in plain language · the same way you'd ask a knowledgeable colleague · and Claude responds. No coding, configuration, or technical background is required.

✅ What You Can Do

Claude can help with a wide range of everyday work tasks, including:

  • Drafting, editing, and proofreading emails, memos, and reports
  • Summarizing long documents, meeting notes, or research materials
  • Brainstorming ideas, outlines, and plans
  • Analyzing documents and extracting key information
  • Creating agendas, action item lists, and structured content
  • Preparing presentations, talking points, and executive summaries
  • Answering questions about documents you upload
  • Translating or reformatting content into different styles or formats
Yes. You can upload PDFs, Word documents, text files, spreadsheets, images, and more directly into a conversation. Claude will read and analyze the content and answer your questions about it. This is particularly useful for summarizing lengthy documents, extracting key points, or comparing multiple files.
A Project is a dedicated workspace that keeps your conversations, uploaded documents (knowledge base), and custom instructions together. Use a Project when you'll return to the same work repeatedly · for example, a recurring report, a case type, or a department process. Claude will automatically remember the context from your knowledge base in every conversation within that Project.
Yes. Claude Team allows you to share Projects with other licensed SCO employees. Shared project members can view and use the same knowledge base, project instructions, and saved artifacts. Each team member's individual conversations within the project remain private to them unless they choose to share.
Artifacts are standalone pieces of content Claude creates during a conversation · such as a drafted document, a formatted table, a presentation outline, or a piece of code. They appear in a separate panel alongside the conversation so you can easily view, copy, or edit them. Artifacts can be saved to a Project for future reference.

Good prompts include four elements:

  • Clear instruction: Tell Claude exactly what you want it to do.
  • Relevant context: Provide background information Claude needs to help you.
  • Audience or purpose: Who is this for and why?
  • Desired format: Bullet list, email, paragraph, table, etc.

If the first response isn't quite right, don't start over · follow up in the same conversation with specific feedback. Claude retains context throughout the conversation.

By default, Claude does not browse the internet or access live data. Its knowledge has a training cutoff date. For current events, live statistics, or real-time data, consult appropriate live sources. If SCO's configuration enables web access features, your administrator will advise you on how and when to use them.

🔐 Privacy of SCO Data

Under SCO's Claude Team enterprise agreement, your conversations are not used to train Anthropic's AI models. Conversations are not shared with other organizations or made public. However, as with any enterprise software, authorized SCO IT administrators may have access to usage data for security and compliance purposes. Do not treat Claude conversations as a secure channel for highly sensitive communications.

Follow the data classification guidance in the SCO AI Governance Policy:

  • Public data: May be used freely with Claude.
  • Internal data: Generally acceptable · use good judgment.
  • Confidential data (personnel records, financial forecasts, client contracts): Anonymize before sharing, or avoid sharing altogether.
  • Restricted data (PII, PHI, sealed records, privileged communications): Do not input without explicit IT authorization.

When in doubt, don't paste it. Anonymize or generalize the information first, or consult your supervisor or SCO IT.

No. Under the SCO Team enterprise agreement, Anthropic does not use your conversations or uploaded data to train or improve its AI models. This is a key privacy protection of the enterprise plan that is not available on free personal accounts.
Conversation history is stored and accessible to you within your Claude account. Anthropic's data retention practices for enterprise customers are governed by the terms of SCO's agreement. For specific retention periods and data handling questions, contact SCO IT. Remember that AI-generated work products saved in SCO systems are also subject to SCO's standard records management and retention policies.

🌐 Global Use & Compliance

Yes. Claude Team is cloud-based and accessible from any internet-connected device · at the office, at home, or while traveling. Sign in at claude.ai with your SCO credentials. Apply the same data handling standards you would in the office, regardless of where you're working.
Yes. As a judicial branch organization, SCO is subject to various laws, court rules, and professional standards that govern the handling of court data, PII, and legal information. AI use must comply with these requirements. For specific regulatory questions about your use case · particularly involving case data, legal filings, or personnel information · consult SCO Legal or IT before proceeding.
It depends on the context. For internal documents, disclosure is generally not required but is encouraged for transparency. For external-facing work, legal filings, official publications, or any context where the distinction between human and AI authorship is material, you must follow applicable court rules, professional conduct rules, and SCO policy. When in doubt, disclose. Consult your supervisor or SCO Legal if you're unsure.

⚖️ Using Claude Responsibly

The following uses are prohibited under the SCO AI Governance Policy:

  • Inputting PII, PHI, sealed records, or privileged communications without explicit authorization
  • Using Claude to make or finalize high-stakes decisions (hiring, legal, disciplinary) without human review
  • Generating, altering, or fabricating evidence, official records, or judicial opinions
  • Presenting AI-generated content as independently verified fact without checking it
  • Creating deceptive, misleading, or fraudulent content
  • Attempting to circumvent Claude's safety guidelines or content policies
  • Using your SCO Claude account for personal, non-work purposes
  • Sharing your account credentials with anyone
You must always review Claude's output before using it. Claude can produce incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information · sometimes confidently. Always verify facts, figures, citations, names, and dates against authoritative sources. You are accountable for the accuracy of any work product you submit or publish, regardless of whether AI assisted in its creation.
No. Claude is an assistant tool · it is not a decision-maker. All significant decisions, especially those affecting litigants, employees, or the public, must be made by a qualified human with appropriate authority. Claude's output is advisory only. For high-stakes matters · legal, financial, medical, or compliance-related · always seek qualified human expert review regardless of AI assistance.
Do not use the response. You can try rephrasing your request or providing more context to get a better answer. If you believe Claude's response raised a content or safety concern, or if you encounter a potential policy violation or security issue related to AI use, report it to your supervisor and SCO IT promptly.
No. Personal Claude accounts do not have the privacy protections or enterprise agreements that SCO requires. On a personal account, your conversations may be used to train AI models and you have no organizational oversight or data protection guarantees. SCO work must only be conducted using your SCO-provisioned Claude Team account.

📊 Usage & Your Seat Type

Claude Team includes significantly higher usage limits than personal or free accounts. For most users, these limits will not be a concern in normal day-to-day use. If you hit a usage limit, you'll receive a notification from Claude and can resume after a short wait period. If you regularly hit limits due to the nature of your work, contact SCO IT to discuss your needs.
SCO's Claude Team account provides access to Anthropic's latest and most capable Claude models · including Claude Sonnet and Claude Opus where available. The default model is selected to balance performance and usage efficiency. You can switch between available models within a conversation based on the complexity of your task.

SCO's Claude Team has two main roles:

  • Administrators (SCO IT): Manage licenses, invite and remove users, configure organization-wide settings, monitor usage, and enforce policy compliance.
  • Members (Standard users): Use Claude for their work, create and share Projects, collaborate with teammates, and manage their own conversations and artifacts. Members do not have access to organizational settings or other users' conversations.

Most SCO employees will be Members.

No. Individual conversations are private to each user. You will only see conversations that you created, or that have been explicitly shared with you within a shared Project. Administrators can view usage metadata (e.g., volume of usage) for compliance purposes but do not have routine access to the content of individual conversations.

🆘 Getting Help

Contact SCO IT for issues related to account access, login problems, license provisioning, or technical errors with the platform. For questions about how to use Claude effectively for your work, speak with your supervisor or a trained colleague. Anthropic also provides a Help Center at support.anthropic.com for product-specific questions.
For questions about whether a specific use case is permitted under SCO policy, contact your supervisor in the first instance. For formal policy interpretation, data classification questions, or compliance concerns, contact SCO Legal or SCO IT. Do not proceed with a high-risk or uncertain use case without seeking guidance first.
As many times as you need. There is no limit on quiz retakes. The passing score is 80% (8 out of 10 correct). If you don't pass on your first attempt, review the module video and try again. Your best passing score is what counts.
Training progress is saved in your browser's local storage. It can be lost if you clear your browser's cache or site data, use a different browser, or use a different device. If your progress is lost, you will need to retake the quizzes on the device/browser where you want to complete training. Contact SCO IT if you believe there is a technical issue.
